FEATURED IN LOGO LOUNGE MASTER LIBRARY INITIALS AND CRESTS

Just heard the good word that the Simple Balance logo has been selected to be published next year in Rockport Publishers' Logo Lounge Master Library: Initials and Crests. I'm especially pleased because it was a mark I created for a dear friend of mine who is currently saving the world in Swaziland, Africa. It is actually she who came up with the great name for the company.

Massage is a form of natural healing so I really wanted to communicate that in the design. The type is very organic and hand-crafted while the two shapes represent natural elements. The green one represents land and the blue one represents water. They are both equal in size and together, they form a whole circle to symbolize balance, harmony and well-being. The negative space in between the two shapes forms the letter "S" for Simple Balance.

I'll let you know when it hits the shelves at your favorite bookstore and Hilary, I owe you some Shiner Bock and queso when you make it back.

UNIQUE PIGGY BANKS

The kiddos received some Christmas money this holiday season and while my daughter Fayte already has a piggy bank to deposit her cut into, my four-month old son Hudson hasn't had the need for one until now. So, my wife and I decided to do a little online shopping and these are the ones we really love.

We ended up choosing the Coink because its playful look fits well with Hudson's room. We thought the egg was pretty sweet, but at $95, we would be breaking the bank before we even purchased it.

Speaking of breaking the bank, another one that we absolutely loved was this art piece by Derrick Wang. Makes you want to think twice about breaking that pig open!
